Pineapple Pottery

I came across this absolute gem, quite by chance today. The pineapple-esque look attracted me. Once I got my hands on it, I knew it would be coming home with me. Whenever I get a closer look at pottery like this vase, I'm in utter awe of the potter. Having thrown a few amateurish items of my own, my products were invariably less like Demi Moore from Ghost, and more like 'Slimer' the ghost from Ghostbusters. They are mine and I love them. But they are very far removed from this vase, and ceramics of this ilk. HOW did they make the opening so small and perfect?!?

  1. I've also thrown a few Slimer-esque pots, you get such an appreciation for pottery afterwards. No wonder it's so expensive! It takes serious skill.

    1. Doesn't it just! I was using the facilities at my Community centre, sharing the space with retired professional ceramicists. I was like a baby playing with play-doh in comparison to them!

    1. I know! I almost walked past it. They had it way back behind the counter. Luckily I was born with eagle eyes :)
