Thrifted Furniture Redo

Hi everyone! I'm Midge from WhippedLife- I'm new to The Thrift Collective. I'm super excited because I just finished two projects and now I get to share them.

I love poking around in thrift stores, or "junking" as my grandmother calls it. Between my last few stops at the church thrift and Goodwill Outlet, I was able to pick up these little beauties:

The shelf was $4 on a day when they were doing 50% off wood items, and the ottoman was $0.99!
I used thrifted fabric in both end results, and I'm really happy with the results. The fabric on the ottoman actually came in a bag with coordinating lining and a zipper, and it was $1 for the whole bag, so the ottoman project cost me less than $2, and the shelf project less than $10.

The cat approved immediately and has since claimed ownership.  Not surprising, that's usually how it goes!

Well, that's all I've got for now, hope to be back soon with more thrifty goodness!

  2. Those are both fabulous! You did a wonderful job. I could never have done the ottoman as well as you did. I have painted a few small spice shelves, and I think your shelf looks great! I love the color of green with which you painted your shelf. I wonder if there is any way you could tell me what brand and color of paint it was?
