Garage Sale Weekend

Hi Thrift Collect - My latest finds.  Reposted from here.

The estate sale photos this weekend did not thrill me and honestly I just wasn't in the mood. So instead of dong the "get up early, get a number and fight with the masses for what might be over priced items" thing this weekend I got up early to hit some garage sales.  Why I can't stay in bed like a normal person on a Saturday morning is one for the doctor's couch I suppose.  My daughter, who has always been a very early riser, was up and ready to go so she came with me to the first sale.  She turned out to be a lucky charm because we both walked away with a few good finds.

I debated about the Zanesville.  It's a super awesome size (15"!!) but it's not perfect.  It was also super cheap so it came home with me.  Between my kids and dogs it's probably best not to have a piece that large that was perfect.  The K&B Victory tablecloth and the Spar cheese slicer are new and have never been used.

Next stop.....

Vera napkins in a great mod geometric print with original tags and a groovy space age flip clock.

And then.......

Yes!  Cathrineholm Lotus pattern fondue pot set in very good condition.  Since I bought the Grete Prytz Kittelsen book I've purchased 4 CH pieces (one is in transit).  If you haven't gotten yours yet go to the amazon link on the side bar (on the HCV blog) and order it today.  It's so worth it.  It's like a Cathrineholm homing device!  Also found a large Dansk divided tray and a teak viking brush in very good condition.  I'm kind of crushin' on the brush.  He's a real charmer.  I also found a beautiful tillandsias air plant.  I've been wanting one of these for ages and I'm so glad I found one local.  I love how sculptural they are and If I don't kill it I can go back and get a few more.

  1. Franc one, early bird gets the worm! What a lovely haul! I'm a bit taken with teak at the mo, so your pieces would have come home with me too! To find a cathrine, well I have never dreamed so much!
Give your air plant a weekly spray of water and enjoy!
