Vintage Pyrex and Mikasa!

Hello all!! I thought I'd update everyone on my recent thrifty finds as it has been a while.

First, I'm an avid pyrex collector and recently I happened upon these little beauties (most recent acquisitions first):

I found these butterfly gold dishes just today for $6 each at the local SA. I usually don't expect to find much on a Saturday so I'm glad I found these!

I got this pyrex holiday promotional piece for $4 a little more than a week ago - made in 1961. I found this one in a thrift store that I had never found pyrex in before so it was a happy surprise.

I found this pyrex Desert Dawn utility dish at the same time as the above promotional piece. It looks like a solid yellow in the pic but it also has reddish brown speckles on it. I had never heard of this line before I found it. Apparently, it came out in 1955 - I just LOVE it! And only for $2 =D

This opal white oval snack server dish was found the Saturday before Easter Sunday. After a bit of research I found out that it's actually less common than the other pyrex patterns and it doesn't come with a lid. Instead it comes with a carrier ($3.15).

I'm also a bit of vintage mikasa collector so today I also brought these home (89 cents per piece):

The mugs and plates are both from the Mikasa Shape line by Ben Seibel. The pattern on the plates is called Lemonade.

I can't seem to find any info on these mikasa dishes online anywhere. Does this mean this line is more rare? Anyone with info is welcome to fill me in!!

Have a great weekend!

  1. Congrats on the WSJ! I also love pyrex and Ben Seibel for Mikasa.

  2. Those Mikasa mugs are lovely. I once saw the same style but with orange and yellow stripes and I was so close to purchasing them. I regret that I didn't.

    Very nice finds.
