Newb!

Greetings! I'm so excited to be able to contribute to this blog! I've started thrifting a lot more lately so thought I'd share my finds with you all. I love finding other people's old and beautiful treasures and making them my own. It's not only a lot of fun but easy on the pocket and the environment too! Yay recycling! Anyway, here's a few of my recent thrift finds. (And don't hesitate to tell me if you know anything about what I find - because I probably don't!)

I found this ring holder for 98 cents and the tray behind for $3 to keep my jewelery and toiletries on in the bathroom. The tray is actually mirrored, sorry I couldn't provide a better photo of it. Anyway, I love looking at these two - they're super pretty and make me feel totally glam.

Sorry for the blurry photo on this one, but I got these earrings for 98 cents! They need a bit of clean up before I wear them but I like them nonetheless =)

This glass is so pretty! There was only one but I couldn't not take it home with me (75 cents). I didn't find any markings on the bottom so I'm unsure of maker/history.

This is one of my favorite finds, a globemaster globe. I've wanted a vintage globe for a while and when I found this one I was pretty happy ($2.25). I've been trying to date it and so far I know it's pre 1971 because it still has East Pakistan on it which became Bangladesh in 1971 (yes I'm a nerd). But I can't figure out any other dating clues. =/

I found a bag of these sewing notions for $1. Lots of old binding, ric rac, and eye hooks. Lovely.

I found these two beautiful mugs for $1 total at the local SA. They're so pretty I could look at them all day. They have no markings on the bottom.

Have a great weekend!!

  1. love the globe- I have been beating myself up a bit over passing one up at goodwill last month, it probably wasn't that old but it had the soviet union... and a gorgeous beat up look, and a solid wood base... Why oh why did I decide against it?

haha, I even walked around the store holding it for about 10 minutes before changing my mind and putting it back.

looks like you've made some great finds!

  2. oh no! I'm hoping another globe comes your way Hannah. I'm sure it will.

I actually figured out another dating clue...If anyone's interested (probably not, but I'm gonna tell you anyway) I think it's post 1965 because Rhodesia, which was an unofficial republic that existed from 1965 to 1979, is on it. Rhodesia later became Zimbabwe. wooo!

    Thanks for the welcome Ana!
