Ray Eame's Sea Things Tray

I'm so excited to share my most recent thrifty score!!!

I snagged this serving tray at a Yard Sale on Friday for only $1.00.

I knew it was cool when I found it...but just this morning realized it's way cooler than I had imagined.
After doing a little research I discovered the design is by Ray Eames!
The Sea Things pattern was developed in 1947 for Waverly and is highly collectible
(an example of the Black and White pattern material is even at LACMA).

At an auction in April 2010, one of these trays sold for over $1,000.00.
My tray does have a little damage to the underside, but it's not noticeable from the top.

Though I'm tempted to keep it for myself, I may be listing it in my Etsy Shop soon.
For now however, I'm just glowing with excitement on the lucky find!!!
