Check Out My New Boyfriends!

Can you believe how amazing these pipe smokers are? Or...maybe you find them terrifying...or horribly ugly...or both. Regardless, I love these guys and need to find more! If anyone finds a pipe smoking old man needlepoint in their thrift adventures, please keep me in mind...

  1. Can you imagine the time that went into those guys? Especially the guy on the right, all that detail in his shirt!

  2. wow. wow. I don't usually go for these kind of things and I couldn't live with them but there is something about these guys...
(so is this the beginning of a collection)?

  3. Ummmmmmm these are totally random and they remind me of a framed cross stitch I found at a church yard sale. You wonder what motivates people to embark on the cross stitching adventure that something like this is.

PS. The random cross stitch from church yard sale stated the following: In the old days there were 3 types of people; those who believed in werewolves, those who did not believe in werewolves and those who were werewolves. Obvi it was complete with a cross stitched wolf. Totally random.

  4. I know, the time commitment is pretty insane...people used to have so much extra time before computers were around I guess! ;) I normally HATE cross stitch stuff and granny art too but there really is something about these guys that I love. Can't put my finger on it but I think mostly because they're weird. Again, I think I will be sticking with the gnome dude and parting with the leprechaun-ish guy but I'm on the fence still...

  6. So unique, I love the bright colors in these. Like the Vintage Cabin there's many bits of "granny art" I despise. A cross stitched piece of roses lined in lace? Get it away! But cross stitch with unique figures and bold colors with a nice black outline, that can be admired as a different aesthetic despite the medium.

In short, these are two treasures. Makes me want to cross stitch (if I had time!)

  7. Wow! I love them both-and the time it took-incredible to me. I think it takes a special person to appreciate this type of art. What a treasure!
